We had an exciting and informative meeting tonight with two 2002 Marquette grads as presenters. Their story was fun and their insights about the wonderful world of PR were even better. Mary Mocarski, project manager at Johnson Controls, and Lori Richards, Vice President of Mueller Communications, met as blind roommates in McCormick Hall. Each woman spoke to the importance of internships and gaining hands-on PR experience, sharing stories about the internships they held while students here. There presentation gave an insightful comparison between the agency and corporate PR worlds, and also explored the differences between hyperlocal and global companies. Although they both have very successful careers, they each gave an insight into what they wish they could have accomplished. Mary wishes she had gotten agency experience, and Lori regrets not having experience working in a newsroom. If you think this sounds like something you would be interested in, join us next Wednesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. to listen to the PR manager for the Milwaukee Bucks. Comments03/23/2012 02:30
